The parking policy of the City of Lyon aims to facilitate long-term parking of residents in order to encourage them to use public transportation and to encourage commuters from the suburbs to use the park & ride facilities provided at public transport sites.
Nonetheless, many new parking areas were developed in the downtown area and around town.
