Originally the Convent of the Colinettes, named for the Marquise of Coligny who founded the convent, was home to the Ladies of Saint Elisabeth from 1665 to 1789. Transformed into a military barracks during the French Revolution, it then became a military hospital named in memory of Count Joseph Villemanzy, a supporter of Louis XVIII. In the heart of the city, 5 minutes from downtown, this historic 17th century building is located on the slopes of the Croix-Rousse and has an exceptional view over the Rhone and the metropolitan area.
